How much does a bookkeeper in Miami cost? From $347 per month ($80 a week) for the Essentials package, or $650 per month ($150 a week) for Professional. A one-off BAS lodgement is a fixed $150. No hourly rates and no surprise invoices.
Do you work with small venues and food businesses? Yes. Miami has a lot of them — daily takings, POS integration, supplier coding and award payroll across a casual roster are routine for us here.

Bookkeeping for Miami businesses
Miami has become one of the more interesting small-business suburbs on the coast. The Gold Coast Highway strip carries cafes, bakeries, small bars and independent retailers. Miami Marketta anchors a food and live music scene that has pulled a lot of independent operators into the area. Around Pizzey Park and the surrounding streets there is a steady base of allied health, fitness, creative studios and trades.
Almost none of these businesses have an administrator. The owner is usually behind the counter or on the tools, and the books get attention when there is time, which there rarely is. The service that suits them is one where the bookkeeping simply happens correctly in the background.
Why Miami businesses choose us
The compliance stops being your problem
Receipts captured on your phone, bank feeds coded weekly, BAS prepared and sent for your sign-off before it is due. You stop carrying it, which is the actual value.
Award payroll that holds up
Casual loading, penalty rates, junior rates and public holidays, interpreted against the award that applies and documented properly. Underpayment claims are expensive and slow to surface.
Priced for an independent operator
$347 a month is a real service for a small venue or studio, not a stripped-back tier that stops working once you hire someone.
Bookkeeping prices for Miami businesses
| Service | Price | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials package | $347/month ($80/week) | Small cafes, studios, retailers, allied health and sole traders |
| Professional package | $650/month ($150/week) | Venues and businesses with rostered staff and high transaction volume |
| BAS lodgement (one-off) | $150 | You do the books, we check the file and lodge |
| IAS lodgement | $66 | Monthly PAYG withholding |
| Superannuation lodgement | $50 | Super guarantee processing and lodgement |
Packages are month to month. If your volumes change we reprice openly rather than quietly adding hours to an invoice.
BAS lodgement for Miami businesses
Most Miami businesses lodge quarterly. Lodging electronically through a registered BAS agent gives you the concessional dates below rather than the standard ones — roughly four extra weeks on three of the four quarters.
| Quarter | Standard due date | Lodged through a BAS agent |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 — July to September | 28 October | 25 November |
| Q2 — October to December | 28 February | 28 February (no extension) |
| Q3 — January to March | 28 April | 26 May |
| Q4 — April to June | 28 July | 25 August |
The October to December quarter is your strongest trading and the only one with no agent extension, falling due 28 February. For a Miami venue that is the largest GST bill of the year arriving in a quiet month, so we forecast it in January.
If you lodge monthly, the activity statement is due on the 21st of the following month. The December statement is the exception — businesses under $10 million turnover reporting GST monthly through an agent have until 21 February.
We do not lodge on the last afternoon. Your figures are finalised and sent to you for sign-off with time to query anything before it goes to the ATO.
Cafes, bars and food businesses
Daily takings reconciled across cash, card, delivery platform and tips. Supplier accounts coded by category so food cost and beverage cost are separable. POS connected to Xero so nobody re-keys sales after close.
Delivery platform settlements are the most common error we find. The money that reaches your bank is net of commission, so GST on gross sales and the deductible commission have to be recorded separately — otherwise your turnover, your margin and your BAS are all quietly wrong at once.
For bakeries and grocers, the GST-free and taxable food split needs to be mapped at the till rather than estimated at the end of the quarter. Basic food is generally GST-free; prepared and hot food generally is not.
Market and event trading
Operators trading at Miami Marketta and similar venues work a few sessions a week with a mix of cash and card takings, site fees, and staffing that flexes with the night. We set up a takings process that takes minutes at the end of a session and produces a record that reconciles to banking — which matters, because cash-intensive trading attracts closer ATO attention and the defence is a clean contemporaneous record.
Studios, allied health and creative businesses
The fitness studios, clinics, salons and creative businesses through Miami and around Pizzey Park. Memberships, class packs and prepaid packages are income in advance, released as the service is delivered — recognising them on receipt overstates profit early and shifts GST into the wrong quarter. For allied health, the GST-free versus taxable service split is the recurring correction.
Onsite bookkeeping in Miami
We visit clients along the Gold Coast Highway strip, around Miami Marketta and the Mountain View Avenue surrounds, the Pizzey Park precinct, and home-based and studio-based businesses across the suburb.
For a venue, the most useful visit is with whoever runs the till and whoever writes the roster, because that is where the fixable problems live.
Payroll, Single Touch Payroll and payday super
Casual and rostered payroll, penalty rates, junior rates, public holidays, leave accruals, terminations and Single Touch Payroll reporting every pay run.
Since 1 July 2026, payday super requires super contributions to reach each employee’s fund within seven business days of payday rather than quarterly. For a small venue paying weekly, super now moving with each pay run means it needs to be budgeted weekly rather than set aside for the quarter.
Catch-up bookkeeping and overdue BAS
Independent venues fall behind during a good run and find the backlog when it quietens. It is ordinary, and quoted as a fixed price to fix.
We bring the file current, lodge the outstanding statements in the right order, and where there is a genuine reason for the delay we can approach the ATO about a payment arrangement or a remission of penalties on your behalf. Catch-up work is quoted as a fixed price once we have looked at the file, so you know what getting clean costs before you commit to it.
Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
We work in Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks, with Hubdoc for receipt capture so paperwork is photographed once and filed automatically. If you are still running the business out of a spreadsheet and a shoebox, we will get you set up on software properly, migrate the history, and train you on the bits you actually need to touch.

Miami bookkeeping FAQs
How much does a bookkeeper cost in Miami?
From $347 per month for Essentials or $650 per month for Professional. One-off BAS lodgement is $150.
How do you handle delivery platform sales?
Gross sales, platform commission and GST are recorded separately, so your revenue and margin stay accurate and the BAS is right.
Do you work with market and event traders?
Yes. Session takings, cash reconciliation and site fees are set up so the record is clean and defensible.
How should class packs and memberships be treated?
As income in advance, released as the service is delivered. Recognising them on receipt overstates profit and moves GST into the wrong quarter.
Do you do hospitality payroll?
Yes — casual loading, penalty rates, junior rates and public holidays, interpreted against the correct award and reported through STP.
